About Us & Principals' Welcome
Welcome to the Great Valley 5/6 Center!
At the new Great Valley 5/6 Center, we will be a school that provides our students the best possible social and learning experiences. A sense of community will form the basis of these efforts, and we will embed responsive and restorative practices into the framework of our academic and social approaches. Collectively, we will strive to create a community where students and adults belong, learn, and care for one another. In summation, we want to focus on the following pillars within our 5/6 Center community:
- All people have intrinsic worth.
- Each individual has unique gifts and talents.
- Individuals are responsible and accountable for their choices and actions.
- Honesty and integrity are fundamental to healthy relationships.
- Lifelong learning is essential to individual fulfillment and the betterment of society.
- When committed individuals work together toward common goals, the possibilities are infinite.
As a new school, we will emphasize the role of student choice in building a cohesive culture. From recess to our instructional practices, we want to hear from our students about what they want for their school and their school experiences. Incorporating student voice will empower and nurture a more engaged student body that “plays together and stays together.”
If the vision for our new school seems different, well, it is. We are striving to create something special, and we welcome our community and their partnership in those efforts. Thank you for everything that you will contribute to making the 5/6 Center great.
